DWIOn April 1, 2018 at about 3 p.m. West Milford Police Officer Jill Brickman observed a vehicle traveling on Route 23 North make an illegal left turn at the Clinton Road traffic light.
She stopped the vehicle on Route 23 South just after Clinton Road and identified the driver as Nancy Seebeck, 56, of Rockaway, N.J. The driver exhibited signs of intoxication and she was asked to perform sobriety tests which she failed. The accused was placed under arrest and transported to police headquarters for processing.
She was charged with DWI, open container in a motor vehicle and failure to observe a traffic control device.
CDS ArrestOn April 5, 2018 at about 2:32 p.m. West Milford Police Officer Anthony Frassa was alerted from the license plate reader in his patrol vehicle of an unregistered vehicle that had passed him. The officer was able to stop the vehicle on Lakeside Road and the driver was identified as Travis Glohs, 35, of Warwick.
While speaking with the driver, the officer detected an odor of burnt marijuana coming from within the vehicle.
The driver surrendered a small bag of marijuana from within the vehicle. Also located in the vehicle was a small pipe with burnt residue of suspected marijuana.
The accused was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana under 50 grams, possession of paraphernalia and driving an unregistered vehicle. He was released on summonses and is awaiting his first municipal court date.
CDS ArrestOn April 13, 2018 at about 8:45 p.m. West Milford Police Officers Anthony Frassa and Michael Onembo observed a vehicle illegally parked in the fire zone in front of a local business. After the owner of the vehicle returned after approximately 10 minutes he got into his car and parked in a parking space about 50 feet away.
Officer Onembo then walked over to the parked vehicle and observed the driver holding a hypodermic syringe which he was about to inject into his arm.
The officer announced his presence and the driver began to drive away. Officer Frassa was able to perform a motor vehicle stop in the parking lot and the driver was ordered out of the vehicle.
When he stepped out of the vehicle two hypodermic syringes fell to the ground. The driver was identified as Justin Parkinson, 26, of Hewitt.
Inside the vehicle were located nine more syringes and 49 glassine envelopes of suspected heroin. The accused was placed under arrest and transported to police headquarters for processing.
The accused was charged with possession of heroin, possession of hypodermic syringes, failure to have insurance, failure to exhibit license, parking in a fire zone failure to wear seatbelt and CDS in a motor vehicle.
He was released on a summons with a pending future court date.
DWIOn April 20, 2018 at about 11:22 p.m. West Milford Police Officer Thomas Valente conducted a motor vehicle stop on a 2017 White Ford F150. The driver of the vehicle had failed to signal a lane change while travelling north on Warwick Turnpike, was having difficulty staying within his lane of travel and was speeding.
The officer conducted the motor vehicle stop on Lake Shore Drive and Mapleshade Road. He identified the driver as Brian Vanputtenvink, 36, of Sussex.
After showing signs of intoxication and failing his sobriety tests, Brian was placed under arrest for DWI.
He was transported to police headquarters for processing and was charged with DWI, failure to keep right, disregard of marked lanes, speeding and failure to have insurance. He was released to a family member and is awaiting his first court date.
CDS ArrestOn April 21, 2018 at about 5:09 a.m. Officer Thomas Valente observed a vehicle with Texas license plates parked off the roadway on Clinton Road.
The officer stopped to check on the five occupants of the vehicle and while doing so observed signs of drug use.
One of the passengers, Anthony Nieves, 19, of Bergenfield, N.J., was found with a clear jar of suspected marijuana between his feet.
The officer discovered further marijuana in the suspect’s pants pocket. The accused was placed under arrest for possession of marijuana under 50 grams and charged accordingly.
CDS ArrestOn April 27, 2018 at about 9:26 a.m. while patroling the Greenwood Lake Turnpike Park and Ride, Officer Kevin Canova observed a male who appeared to be sleeping his vehicle.
He recognized the male as Justin Parkinson, 26, of Hewitt. When the officer went to check on the accused, he had a phone charger wrapped around his arm and fresh puncture marks on the same arm.
After waking the accused a total of three syringes and a total of 10 glassine folds with suspected heroin were located inside the vehicle. The accused was arrested and transported to police headquarters for processing.
He was charged with possession of heroin, possession of paraphernalia and issued a traffic summons for CDS in a motor vehicle. He was transported to Passaic County Jail where he will await his first court date.
Total calls in AprilDuring the month of April, the West Milford Police Department responded to 1,305 calls for service.
