West Milford — More than 18,000 voters in West Milford are registered as either a Republican, Democrat or unaffiliated to a party and are eligible to vote Tuesday, June 5 in the 2018 Primary Election.
Polls will be open throughout the county including at the 13 precincts in West Milford from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. Early voting is underway now and will continue until Monday, June 4, the day before Election Day.
The two parties will be selecting their candidates to run in the general election for two West Milford Township County seats.
According to Gary Olsen of the Superintendent of Elections, there are 4,048 registered Democrats in the township and 6,605 Republicans. In addition, there are 7,935 unaffiliated voters, who will be eligible to vote in one or the other party races if they are willing to declare a party at the polling precedent, according to the Election Division of the County Clerk's office.
Republicans voters will select two candidates from a field of four, who will ultimately run for the seats on the Township of West Milford Council. Those candidates are Paul M. Zarrillo, incumbent Tim Wagner, Ada Erik and Marilyn Lichtenberg.
Democrats have only one choice, Kristin Reeves, who is running unopposed.
In this Primary Election, voters will also decide on party candidates for the U.S. Congress, the Passaic County clerk, members of the Board of Chosen Freeholders and members of the County Committee.
Early voting hoursOffice hours for in-person voting are Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. with extended hours on Saturday, June 2, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Monday, June 4.
The Clerk’s office is located at 401 Grand St., 1st Floor, Room 130, Paterson.
Voters may also vote in person at the satellite office located at 1237 Ringwood Ave., Wanaque.
Election results will be posted on the county clerk's website on Election night as the results come in from each precinct. The election will be certified after all provisional ballots have been counted, about 10 days after the election, according to the county clerk's office.
