Sweet treats for our soldiers

Greenwood Lake Animal Hospital posted a request on Facebook for candy to be shipped to deployed soldiers. In response, they received 114 pounds of treats. The children of Maple Road School gave so generously to the request that the mother delivering all the candy was uncertain if they could ship it all. But they did! The animal hospital staff shipped all of the candy to Diego McKenzie's dad, who is currently deployed. Diego, standing in center, attended Maple Road School and is employed as a technician assistant at Greenwood Lake Animal Hospital. Thanks go out to Frank Yevchak, founder of SupportOur4Legged Soldiers, pictured here in front, who packed up the candy, Anita Ambrosio, standing left, the hospital's postal worker who was so thrilled with the project, she paid for part of the shipment herself, and hospital manager Jackie Scheuerman.
