Mmmm! Fish fry at St. Simon Church

GREEN POND — St. Simon Church in Green Pond is hosting a fish fry, prepared by Tastefully British, on Friday, March 14, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Fish, chips and coleslaw will be served. Celebrate St. Patrick's day at the Elks

WEST MILFORD — The Past Exalted Rulers of the West Milford Elks Lodge # 2236 will be hosting it's weekly Friday night dinner on Friday March 14, but will be offering a St. Patrick’s day dinner. For $10 enjoy a very hearty meal of corned beef, cabbage, potatoes and Irish soda bread. You may also grab a corn beef on rye for $5. Dinner is served from 5 to 8 p.m.

The West Milford Elks Lodge is located at 1860 Union Valley Road.


Knights of Columbus hosting St. Patrick’s Day Dinner Dance

HEWITT — The Knights of Columbus of Our Lady Queen of Peace Roman Catholic Parish is sponsoring a St. Patrick’s Day Dinner Dance on Saturday, March 15, beginning at 6 p.m. An Irish dinner of corned beef, cabbage, potatoes, and home made Irish soda bread will be served. Feel Free to bring your own bottle. Live Celtic music will be provided by Ortz Keltic.

The event will be held in the Our Lady Queen of Peace gymnasium, located at 1911 Union Valley Road, Hewitt.

Pre-purchase tickets for $25. No tickets will be sold at the door.

Chabad is celebrating Purim

HASKELL — Chabad of Upper Passaic County is hosting 'Purim in Italy' - an Italian themed Purim bash on Sunday, March 16.

Feast on a gourmet Italian lunch, Italian wine tasting, Italian crafts for the kids, masquerade in Italian costume, enjoy Hamantaschen and Lchaim and lots more Italian fun for adults and children. Adults and children will be entertained by Will Shaw, in true Purim fashion.

The Purim party begins with the Megillah reading at 12:30 p.m., with the party starting at 1 p.m.

Chabad is located at 1069 Ringwood Ave, Suite 202, Haskell.

Open to the entire Jewish community, regardless of affiliation or background, for no charge.

Township's Spring Fling is coming up

WEST MILFORD — Come celebrate the arrival of spring at the Township of West Milford Department of Community Services and Recreation's Spring Fling Dance Social on Saturday, April 5, at the West Milford Elks Lodge, 1860 Union Valley Road, West Milford.

The DJ will play all your favorite hits from the 40s 50s, 60s and 70s with a little country in there.

Refreshments will be served, including a dessert table, coffee and tea. The dress is casual. Doors will open at 6:45 p.m. Dance from 7 to 11 p.m.

The cost is $12. Tickets must be purchased in advance by calling the office of Older Adult Services at 973-728-2871, stopping in at the office located at the Hillcrest Community Center, 1810 Macopin Road Room 15, or online at www.capturepoint.com. No tickets will be sold at the door or after April 1.

Get together with friends for a night of dancing and socializing. Sign up early, seating is limited.
