Township readies for new spring celebration

West Milford Community Services and Recreation is hosting its Annual Spring Celebration on April 5, 2014. Take a magical journey “down the rabbit hole” with children’s crafts, games, pictures with the bunny, hat/bonnet contest and the new addition, Treat Stations.

Community Services and Recreation is looking for businesses, families, and civic groups to register to host a treat station. These stations are similar to “trunk or treat.” Some local businesses have already signed up. Participants will have one long table and wall space behind them to decorate keeping the Alice in Wonderland theme in mind. The children use carrots they collect doing the games and crafts or their bonnets/hats will work to “go down the rabbit hole” to the treat stations. Sponsors supply the “mad hatters” with small treats as they visit each station.

Community Services and Recreation is looking forward to this addition to the yearly event and hopes to get many treat stations set up. There will be fun trophies for the most interesting stations.

To get a registration form, go to www.westmilford.org, then to Community Services and Recreation’s home page. The forms will be on the home page, or stop by the office at the Hillcrest Community Center, 1810 Macopin Road, and pick one up. To register for the hat/bonnet contest, stop by the Recreation Office.
