WEST MILFORD — West Milford C.A.S.A. (Community Against Substance Abuse) is hosting its annual Community Awareness Dinner on Monday, April 28, at 6:30 p.m. at the Elks Lodge in West Milford. The dinner is open to all West Milford residents. Pre-registration is suggested. This event is free of charge.
The Passaic County Drug Court will present to those attending. This powerful presentation explains how and why Drug Court works, through real life stories from Drug Court participants. This is a unique opportunity to understand some of the steps that are being taken to help those with addiction problems. The winners of the Zero Abuse Period! (Z.A.P.) survey contest for seventh and eighth graders will also be announced.
C.A.S.A.’s goal is to provide the community with vital information on drug and alcohol abuse. Z.A.P! is the focus, in partnership with the West Milford Health Advisory Board. This new campaign is designed to bring attention to the growing problem of heroin use, which is not only a local concern but a national one as well. In addition, C.A.S.A. will tackle the issue of gateway drugs to heroin, such as abuse of prescription drugs.
Join C.A.S.A. for this special evening and RSVP to firstname.lastname@example.org or call 973-728-2860 to reserve your spot.
