West Milford Players present 'Play On'

WEST MILFORD — The West Milford Players begin their run this weekend of the hilarious comedy "Play On" at the Hillcrest Community Center.

Tickets are available at the door; adults are $15, students and seniors are $13. Dates of the play are May 2, 3, 9 and 10 at 8 p.m. and Sunday, May 4 at 2 p.m.

All shows are at Hillcrest Community Center, 1810 Macopin Road, West Milford. As is the case with all of the Players' shows, part of the proceeds will be donated to a non profit. In this case, The West Milford Animal Shelter is benefiting.

Enjoy Victorian Tea and a manor house tour

RINGWOOD — The community is invited to have tea in the coffee shop at Ringwood Manor, followed by a special house tour of the Manor on Sunday, May 4, 2014, all to benefit the Womans Club of West Milford, the North Jersey Highlands Historical Society and Ringwood Manor.

There will be two seatings, one at 11 a.m. and another at 2 p.m. Tickets are $40 per person, and seating is limited. To reserve, call Carol at 973-853-7258.

This event is catered by Tony Lembo of the Passport Cafe in West Milford.

Play some golf, benefit the band

WEST MILFORD — Like to golf? Here's something to look forward to!

The West Milford Highlander Band 2014 Golf Classic Fundraiser is set for Saturday, May 17, 2014 at Hickory Hill Golf Course in Warwick, N.Y.

The cost is $125 and includes the cart, green fees, use of the driving range and the awards banquet. Don't golf? No problem! You can still contribute and be at the awards banquet for $50.

There will be contests for the straightest drive, longest drive, closest to the pin, hole in one and putting.

Registration begins that day at 11 a.m. with a noon shotgun start. The awards banquet will follow the golfing.

Tricky Tray will benefit ASCF

WEST MILFORD — The Association for Special Children & Families (ASCF), a community parent resource center serving families who have children with disabilities for 36 years, invites community members to a Tricky Tray on Friday, May 16 at 6:30 p.m. at Hillcrest Community Center gym, 1810 Macopin Road, West Milford. This event supports their children's programs, including the HELPS groups for toddlers with special needs as well as other children's activities.

Entrance tickets must be purchased ahead of time. Space is limited to 130. No payment is allowed at the door. The entrance fee is $5 and includes 10 tickets. Doors open at 5 p.m., calling starts at 6:30 p.m. No one under 18 will be allowed at the tables.

ASCF is looking for new items to make more baskets. Anyone wishing to donate an item or a basket or attend the event should call Diane at 973-874-0220.

Learn from the quilters

WEST MILFORD — The West Milford Heritage Quilters will meet on Friday, May 23, from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Macopin Middle School Library, located at 70 Highlander Drive in West Milford. New and experienced quilters of all levels are welcome to join the group, which shares their knowledge and friendship.
