WEST MILFORD — Joseph Gagliano, Jr. signed on to attend SUNY Herkimer in upstate New York and play baseball with the Herkimer Generals.
Joe is currently a senior at Passaic County Tech in Wayne. He signed on with the Herkimer Generals and Coach Jason Rathbun earlier this spring.
Joe played three years varsity for the Bulldogs as a right handed pitcher, throwing 86 miles per hour. He also played first base. His first year, he brought his freshman squad the Hudson County Tournament championship title.
Joe is a product of the West Milford Little League, playing through the ranks with his buddies from West Milford, from t-ball through minors and majors, then on to playing for his favorite mentor, Bob Henry, aka his grandpa. He's traveled to and played in Cooperstown and Canada.
The last two summers traveling throughout the Northeast and Georgia, Joe took the mound for the North Jersey Eagles out of Upper Saddle River for Coach Steve Hayward. He also participated in a study for Hayward along with NYU doctors studying injuries and fatigue of pitchers.
Leaving PCTI in June with a welding certificate, Joe will be studying business, sports and recreation management and welding in his spare time to make some extra money.
He is the son of Dawn and Joseph Gagliano, and the grandson of Shirley Anderson.
