— The Churches have left the building! And on Sunday, May 18, the communities will be glad they did. Five local churches will be putting their faith into action by canceling regular Sunday services to practice very purposeful acts of kindness throughout their community.

Volunteers from The Journey Church of the Highlands, West Milford Presbyterian Church, Echo Lake Baptist Church, Holy Faith Lutheran Church, and Oak Ridge Presbyterian Church, as well as other volunteer groups from the community, will be joining together for projects such as collecting food donations at local supermarkets, business window washing, animal shelter projects, senior citizen yard work, flower planting in town center, visits to nursing homes or assisted living centers, and children's outings.

About 25 work projects, some of them inter-generational, will be held during "Faith in Action Sunday," bringing together community members from both within, and outside the churches. Young and old alike will work side by side on these projects. Volunteers will meet at each individual church at 9:30 a.m. on May 18.

Everyone is invited to participate in this effort.
