A 46-year-old Hewitt woman died Sunday evening, when the motorcycle she was driving veered off Macopin Road.

According to West Milford Police Lieutenant John C. Matarese, Karen J. Wosyluk-Vanriper was riding her 2013 Harley Davidson north on Macopin Road Sunday evening around 7:23 when she veered off the right side of the road near the intersection of Maple Road. Police received a report of a motor vehicle crash but determined after arriving the crash involved a single motorcycle. Police said Wosyluk-Vanriper struck a fixed object and was unconscious and unresponsive. Cardiopulmonary resuscitation was given to her but she was pronounced dead at the scene.

The incident is under investigation, according to Matarese. Anyone who may have witnessed the accident or has knowledge of the circumstances are asked to call Detective Sergeant Singerline at 973-728-2803.
