WEST MILFORD — It has been 10 years since the Highlands Act was signed into law. On Tuesday, June 3, at 7:30 p.m., the West Milford Democratic Club will be hosting a program entitled “The Highlands Act: 10 Years After” that will look at the act’s beginnings, what impact it has had in the past decade, and what the future may hold.

The program will be held at Joey’s Vito and Michael’s Restaurant, 9 Lakeside Road in Hewitt and all members of the community are invited to attend.

The documentary, “The Highlands Rediscovered” will be shown. It was produced by New Jersey Network prior to the Highlands Act, and gives an overview of the Highland’s unique history, geology and geography. Former Mayor Carl Richko, a member of the Highlands Council, will be on hand, along with members of the Highlands Coalition, to discuss the Act’s past, present and future.

The West Milford Democratic Club is sponsoring and hosting this presentation as a decidedly non-partisan event open to everyone interested in the topics for discussion. Food and beverage will be available for purchase.

The West Milford Democratic Club is actively seeking new members and welcomes anyone interested in participating.
