  • The West Milford Farmers Market opens on Wednesday.

— The West Milford Farmers Market will have even more of what you love this year! Sponsored by Sustainable West Milford, the market will be held every Wednesday from 3 to 7 p.m., rain or shine at 1452 Union Valley Road, right next to Town Cycle, beginning this Wednesday, June 4.

Opening day festivities include a ribbon-cutting ceremony and a performance by popular local musicians, J and Kay, who will be playing a variety of favorites and originals from 4 to 6 p.m. There will be a free raffle for a basket of market goods, with goodies from all of the vendors. Be sure to get your raffle ticket at the entrance.

This year, the market features 11 vendors, including: RH Farms, Ideal Farms, Kitatinny Mountain Farm (now certified organic), Noble Pies, Ochs Orchards, Picklelicious, Pie Eyed Bar Pies, RandL Greenhouses, Snoep Winkel Farm, George's Farmhouse Gourmet, and The Empanada Lady.

Vendor offerings include: fruit and vegetable plants, jams, jellies, and preserves, lots of fresh, locally grown, fruits and vegetables, soups, breakfast breads, gluten free baked goods, eggs, honey, cheese, cider, cut flowers, professional knife sharpening, artisan breads, cookies, scones, focaccia bread, pickles, olives, hot peppers and other pickled vegetables, fresh pasta sauces, grass-fed beef, pork, lamb, and poultry, fresh baked pies and much more.

Visit the ‘Buy Local’ corner and support the fine local artisans, merchants and non-profits.

Weekly live music, cooking demonstrations with recipes and other local events make this the community gathering place to be on Wednesday afternoons.
