Used tools to be given new life
Friends of Wallisch to collect tools, June 21
WEST MILFORD — The Wallisch Homestead in West Milford is hosting a Tool Bank Donation on June 21 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The Friends of Wallisch are requesting gently used tools that still have some years left on them, to be given a new life. They would like to create a tool bank for volunteers to use during the one day per month they meet to restore the property. They need the tools found on a farm or to restore old buildings.
Spades, shovels, stone rakes, hand clippers, loping shears (branch pruners), weed-wackers (the old-school kind without a motor), pitch forks, sledge hammers, post hole diggers, bow saws, spackle buckets, pump sprayers and wheelbarrows.
Hammers, hand saws, hack saws, screw drivers, wrenches, etc.
Tools that are still serviceable will be put to use at the Homestead. Tools that have to be "retired" may be given another life by being turned into artworks in our craft shop.
Prizes will be awarded for oldest, most unusual, ugliest, etc.
Donate one tool and receive one ticket for a door prize. Drop off two and get two tickets for a door prize.
