— New Jersey award-winning singer songwriter and West Milford resident Loretta Hagen makes a return appearance to the beautiful Skylands New Jersey Botanical Gardens on Friday, July 11, at 6:30 p.m. Hagen will be joined by guitarist Gary Hagen and Linda Lambiase on percussion.

One part Americana, two parts folk and a dash of country-flavored rock, it's all served up by multi-award, chart-topping songstress Hagen. She delivers rich alto vocals, polished lyrics and tightly woven harmonies; the hallmark of her musical career. A 2013 Jersey Acoustic Music Awards "Top Female Songwriter of the Year," New Jersey Folk Festival Songwriter Competition winner, and Connecticut Folk Festival finalist, Hagen recently released her third CD, Mud and Stone, featuring uplifting heartfelt ballads, playful up-tempo country swing, and cool bluesy grooves. "Mud and Stone" debuted at #10 on Folk DJ Charts, consistently #1 on the Roots Music Report for New Jersey, #5 Top 50 Folk Albums RMR, and receiving airplay throughout the United States, Canada and Europe.

Hagen has shared the stage with Pete Seeger, Roger McGuinn, Steve Forbert, Richie Havens and Gretchen Wilson to name a few and plays premiere stages across the northeast. Her melodies leave folks feeling as if they are listening to their own stories set to song.

Skylands New Jersey Botanical Gardens is located at 2 Morris Road in Ringwood. Lush gardens are the setting for the concert so bring a lawn chair or blanket for seating. Rain or shine, the concert moves to the Carriage House in bad weather. A $5 donation is requested.
