Six fire companies responded to a fire at a private boat house Monday morning, which resulted in a total loss of the structure.

According to the township fire marshal Mike Moscatello, four local companies - Greenwood Forest Company 3, Macopin Fire Company 4, Upper Greenwood Lake Company 5 and West Milford Company 6 - responded to 188 Lakeside Drive, along with firefighters from Greenwood Lake and Warwick, N.Y., when the call came in at 11:11 a.m. He said the fire was under control within 30 minutes.

Moscatello said neighbors alerted the homeowners of the blaze, which is not considered suspicious. He said the top of the boat house was used as a patio.

The cause is still under investigation. There were no injuries.

Moscatello said one jet ski and some small rafts and kayaks were in the boat house and destroyed in the fire. A neighbor's WaveRunner was also damaged by the heat.

Ringwood Fire Department covered the companies on site.
