It was a big day for the eighth graders at Macopin Middle School. On Tuesday, June 24, these excited middle school students were officially promoted onto the next phase in their educational journey - they became high schoolers.

The ceremony took place in the high school gym, with school board trustee Matt Conlon and Vice President Wayne Gottlieb handing out the diploma jackets (the actual diplomas were sent home a few days later). Students were congratulated by Vice Principal Marc Citro and Principal Mary Reinhold.

The smiles were electric as proud parents, family members and friends looked on.
