Paper bus passes mailed to students
WEST MILFORD — Students will receive a paper bus pass in the mail this year.
Each student must present his or her bus pass to the bus driver on the first day of school in order to be allowed on the bus.
Last year, in the district's effort to go paperless, parents and students had to go to the parent portal online to print their bus pass, or they could go to the board office to pick up a printed one if they had to access to a printer.
Superintendent of Schools James McLaughlin announced last month that the district’s Transportation Department is in the process of implementing a new software system. He said that due to the changes, paper bus passes will be mailed to parents of students attending West Milford schools this year. But this will be a one-year only occurrence, since the district is committed to continuing their efforts toward being paperless. However, this system isn't paperless; it just required parents and students to print the passes themselves.
McLaughlin said the paper bus passes were scheduled to be sent to parents on Aug. 8.
