The 2014-2015 school year is set to begin for students in West Milford on Wednesday, Sept. 3. Bus passes have been mailed to families; teacher assignments and schedules are listed on the district’s online parent portal for viewing and printing.

Starting and ending the day: Bus stops

Students should arrive at their designated bus stops 10 minutes earlier than their scheduled pick up times. Students in second grade or younger must be picked up at the bus stop by a parent or guardian. In the case where alternate arrangements are necessary for the bus stop, notification must be made in writing to the transportation department stating who is authorized to meet your child. If a student misses their assigned bus stop for drop off, they should remain on the bus and notify their bus driver.

Macopin Middle School students, which include those in grades 7 and 8, will be greeted once again by Principal Mary Reinhold and Assistant Principal Marc Citro. The middle school hours are 7:30 a.m. to 2:09 p.m.

Students will also receive a warm, friendly greeting from security officers Bill Van Dyk and Mike Van Brunt.

Highlander Academy students in grades 9 through 12 will meet their new Interim Principal Nicholas Del’re during their school day, from 7:30 a.m. to 2:09 p.m.

Hours for pre-school are 8:35 to 11:10 a.m. for the morning session and 12:15 to 2:50 p.m. for the afternoon session students.

A schedule of regular school hours, emergency closing hours, delayed opening hours, and early dismissal hours, as well as a copy of the district’s school calendar with scheduled early dismissal and school closing/holiday/recess dates are both available on the district’s website, www.wmtps.org for viewing, downloading, and printing. Seven emergency days are included in the school calendar, with the last day of school scheduled for June 25, 2015.
