This Spotted Turtle, scientific name Clemmys Guttata, was found one damp and foggy morning in the middle of Morestown Road in West Milford. According to the New Jersey Division of Fish and Wildlife Endangered and Nongame Species Program, the spotted turtle is considered to be one of "special concern" within the state. This turtle was safely placed back into its natural environment here in the heart of the Highlands.
