The award-winning West Milford High School Jazz Ensemble invites the community and area jazz lovers to attend the 6th annual West Milford High School Jazz Festival on Thursday, March 23, at the high school auditorium. Doors open at 4 p.m.; the program begins at 4:30 and runs until 10 p.m. Admission is $10 at the door. Food will be available for purchase at the concession stand. Proceeds from the festival will support the jazz program.

About the West Milford High School Jazz FestivalThe event is hosted by the award winning WMHS Jazz Ensemble, which recently won first place at the prestigious Berklee Jazz Festival in Boston, Massachusetts, and a Gold Rating as well as “Best Overall Saxophone Section” and “Outstanding Soloist” at the New Jersey Association for Jazz Education State Jazz Preliminary Competition. They are a consistent New Jersey State Jazz Finalist, and were selected to perform this year at the (National Association for Music Education All-Eastern Conference in Atlantic City.

According to Director Matt Gramata, “The West Milford High School Jazz Festival has become one of the premier high school jazz festivals in North Jersey. Some of the finest local ensembles from the North Jersey area will be performing. The festival will feature the West Milford Jazz Ensemble with special guest soloists.”

Nutley Middle School Jazz Band (5 p.m.)

Wayne Valley HS Jazz Band 2 (5:30 p.m.)

Lakeland HS Jazz Band (6 p.m.)

Mt. Olive HS Jazz Ensemble (6:30 p.m.)

Jefferson HS Jazz Band (7 p.m.)

Nutley HS Jazz Ensemble (7:30 p.m.)

High Point Regional HS Jazz Band 2 (8 p.m.)

Wayne Valley HS Jazz Band 1 (8:30 p.m.)

High Point Regional HS Jazz Band 1 (9 p.m.)
