  • The Lugnuts waved their caps to the crowd as they were introduced on opening day.

The West Milford Highlanders are hosting the DePaul Catholic Spartans on Friday, May 19, and it will be a special night.

In addition to the game against DePaul, the Highlanders will be hosting the West Milford Little League. All players from the league in all divisions are invited to wear their team jerseys to school that Friday and to the game.

Festivities begin at 5 p.m. at Kilgallen Field/Westbrook Field with the kids in Majors division and higher shagging batting practice for the Highlanders.

At 6:10 p.m., the senior night ceremony takes place, honoring all of senior Highlanders.

That is followed by the singing of the National Anthem, with all Little League kids lining the foul line. First pitch is at 6:30 p.m.

Throughout the evening, there will be food trucks, ice cream and cotton candy. Test your pitch speed in the speed pitch radar booth and see how you match up against the pros. There is also a dunk tank - come dunk your favorite umpires, coaches and even the Little League president in the tank.
