The township's Fourth of July celebration is set for Saturday, July 1 at McCormack Field.

Inflatables, games, concessions and music - as well as the fireworks - are all part of the celebration, from 5 to 10 p.m.

Tequila Rose, one of the hottest country bands around, will entertain at the celebration, starting at 7 p.m.

Advance tickets are available at the Community Services and Recreation Department for $8 per car. It will cost $10 at the gate.

Last year revived the fireworks tradition in West Milford after a four-year absence. "Thunder in the Highlands," was an annual event previously, run as a fundraiser by the PAL. The group discontinued it when it was no longer profitable for them.

Last year, Tim Roetman, director of the township's Community Services and Recreation Department, estimated the crowd at about 4,000 people.

No pets or coolers are allowed. Only blankets are allowed on the turf field.

In case of rain, the event will be held on Thursday, July 6

For advance tickets, call Community Services and Recreation at 973-728-2860.
