Maggie Mae needs a new home and family and she wants to remind everyone that this Sunday, the West Milford Animal Shelter is having a big event. It is their annual Walk-a-Dog-athon! This is a fun filled event for dogs who already

have homes and families. Every dog will receive a free goody bag and bandanna and there will be fun contests for dogs and people.

The lucky dogs get to talk a walk in Wawayanda Start Park to help support homeless animals like Maggie Mae, and all the other dogs, cats and kittens who are waiting for their new furever homes. There are even 4 friendly and playful rats who need homes.as well.

This year's event has a western theme, so put on your hats and boots and come join the Waggin' Train of dogs walking and having fun in the park.

There are fun contests for dogs and humans starting at 1:00 pm, Best Dressed Dog and Owner, Biggest Dog, Smallest Dog, Best Kisser (dog) and Best Human Howler. Plus an alumni parade for dogs adopted from WMASS. Contest winners for 1st, 2nd & 3rd place in each category receive a gift bag & a medal. There will be face painting, bean bag toss and guessing games. Registration is free but there is suggested donation of $10.00 per dog. Anyone who donates $100.00 or more will receive a free t-shirt.. The 7 people who raise/donate the 7 highest amounts will win great prizes.

Water and small snacks will be provided for humans and dogs and food will available for purchase from Dawn's Chuck Wagon. T-shirts and hoodies will be available for purchase. Walk any distance you want with or without a dog. Go ahead and bark it up!
