Fido's license in West Milford expired on the last day of 2017, but tardy owners can still avoid a late fee.

To avoid forking over the extra $8, they must send in applications by Wednesday, Jan. 31. Applications that are postmarked after that date will be returned to sender if the fee is not included.

Rabies vaccinations must be valid until Oct. 24.

License fees are $20 for a non-neutered and $10 for a neutered dog.

Folks bringing applications to the town's health department are asked to bring copies of rabies or neutering papers ‑‑ and a check. For more information, call (973) 728-2849.
