Seminar set on risks, rewards of buying foreclosed homes

Home buyers, new investors and "flippers" are invited to attend a free real estate seminar on the ins and outs of buying foreclosed properties.

The seminar is being conducted by "The Real Deal Team" of Realty Executives® — Sparta on Thursday, Feb. 8, at 6:30 p.m. at the Lake Mohawk Country Club in Sparta.

Northern New Jersey's leading experts in real estate will teach attendees about the risks and rewards of buying foreclosed homes.

Topics covered will include:Understanding the different types of foreclosure properties;

Financing options available for buying foreclosed properties;

Legal risks when purchasing foreclosed homes;

What to expect when buying a foreclosed property;

How much below asking price is considered a serious offer?

Title Insurance and its importance when buying foreclosures;

Inspections — most concerning issues.

There will be a question and answer period afterwards the presentation.

Appetizers and refreshments during a meet-and-greet cocktail hour will be provided and attendees will have the chance to win door prizes.

“First-time homebuyers, flippers, new investors, renters, or anyone simply looking for a good real estate deal should attend,” said Jeannette Burke, partner of The Real Deal Team. “Last year’s session was very well attended and everyone left happy and a little more knowledgeable.”
