Do you know an incredible alumni of West Milford High School who has made a tremendous social impact and should be recognized for their efforts?

The committee of the West Milford High School Hall of Excellence is asking for the community to nominate former students or people who served the high school.

The high school Hall of Excellence was founded in the spring of 2017. Its purpose is to recognize and celebrate the accomplishments of outstanding individuals who graduated West Milford High School or who served the West Milford High School community.

Those recognitions shall serve to deepen student and community understanding of and pride in the history of West Milford High School.

The West Milford High School Hall of Excellence committee has met regularly since its inception, raising awareness and funds to support the goal of accepting an inaugural class of inductees in October 2019.

A display case in the main foyer of the high school will permanently enshrine the inductees, and preparations are already underway for the induction ceremonies in the fall of 2019.

Candidate eligibility Eligible candidates for the West Milford High School Hall of Excellence shall have exemplary achievements and recognition in one’s chosen field and/or with meritorious service on the local, state, and/or national level. Candidates must exemplify the highest standards of ethical conduct and moral character which include outstanding citizenship and demonstrated qualities of leadership.

West Milford High School alumni are eligible 10 years after their graduation in good standing from West Milford High School.

Other school/community candidates are eligible 5 years after their service to the school/community has ended.

In contrast, the West Milford High School Athletic Hall of Fame, the sister organization to the Hall of Excellence, exists to recognize the athletic accomplishments of former students made while they attended West MIlford High School.

The Athletic Hall of Fame will hold its first induction in October 2018.

The West Milford High School Hall of Excellence seeks volunteers and funding.
