Three West Milford Rotarians attended the 2018 Multi District Conference in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic in May.

Bob Asaro, Mark Fredericks, and Amy Lewis attended the conference to represent West Milford Rotary Club.

They networked with Rotarians from other clubs and districts, sharing ideas at round table discussions and sharing fellowship.

They learned about other service projects undertaken by Rotary International, such as clean water in Cambodia and Gift of Life Missions.

Amy Lewis was a speaker at the conference, sharing Rotary Moments about her involvement with the West Milford club.

Bob Asaro joined fellow Rotarians to deliver books and other school supplies, which were collected by Districts 7255 and 7490 to a primary school in a rural village with no electricity or running water.

Our local club donated dictionaries. Two minivans full of supplies were brought to the school, which was built with funds from Rotary International.

In previous years, desks were provided for the students. The children were thrilled to receive the supplies and it was gratifying to see their smiles when they were handed the books.

The Rotary Foundation is dedicated to six areas of focus: Basic education and literacy, economic and community development, peace and conflict resolution, maternal and child health, water and sanitation, and disease prevention and treatment.

The West Milford Rotary Club meets every Tuesday at 12:15 at Tuscany Brewhouse.
