Motorists in New Jersey and around the nation are still seeing prices at the pump drop _ but in many areas they're seeing prices 50 or 60 cents a gallon higher than a year ago.

AAA Mid-Atlantic says the average price of a gallon of regular gas in New Jersey on Friday was $2.94, down three cents from last week. Motorists were paying $2.35 for gas in New Jersey at this time last year.

The national average gas price Friday was $2.90 a gallon, also down three cents from last week but also much higher than the national average a year ago, when motorists were paying $2.35.

Analysts say motorists can expect to spend over $200 more on gas this season due to high demand and crude oil prices.
