The Upper Greenwood Lake Property Owners Association held its popular hot dog festival and pie eating contest on the Beach on July 28.

More than 300 steaming grilled frankfurters were served to about 150 tube steak lovers of all ages. Condiments included two types of mustard, hot sauerkraut, locally created and produced Moe Mountain Hot Sauce, relish, and ketchup for the faint of palate were offered to help the dogs go down.

Pie-eaters had the option to enter the chocolate pudding cream pie eating contest where contestants must gulp their pies face first, no utensils, with hands tied behind their backs.

In addition to hot dogs and pies contests, the UGL Hot Dog Beach Day held a challenging cross lake swim contest for kids, a beach tug of war, a water balloon toss game, and a sand castle building contest for the youngest beach goers.

UGL Beach POA members enjoyed ideal July weather and the beautiful clean, clear Upper Greenwood Lake water.

Upper Greenwood Lake is the second largest private lake In New Jersey.
