“An event such as this brings families and aviation enthusiasts together for a day full of fun and history,” said Tim Wagner, air show event coordinator.
Attendance at the show has been steadily growing throughout the years, making it a highlight of the summer in the region, according to Wagner. With the expanding show comes additional traffic to West Milford and the surrounding areas promoting tourism to the region.
Along with other local events such as ALF, fireworks, a circus, and the boat races, West Milford has been able to grab the attention of more and more tourists.
“The support of the local community is vital to the continued success of the air show and all local events,” Wagner said.
Ninth air show plannedThe ninth annual air show will be spread over two days on June 10 and 11. Attendees will see some of the top aerobatic performers from across the nation, including Rob Holland, Bill Stein, and most recently, Matt Chapman. The three are part of a four-ship group called 4ce. In addition to their solo acts, they will be performing a formation routine.
“They are some of the most skilled aerobatic competitors around, sure to delight and thrill the audience,” stated Wagner.
In addition to the aerobatics, viewers will have the pleasure of watching historic aircraft take to the skies including the B-25 Briefing Time from the Mid Atlantic Air Museum.
