Dale, Republicans sweep local races in West Milford

WEST MILFORD – Republican Michele Dale won the three-way mayor’s race for a one-year unexpired term Tuesday night and her GOP running mates Marilyn Lichtenberg and Ada Erik won the two Township Council seats available.

According to the unofficial results from the Passaic County Clerk’s Office, Dale garnered 3,852 votes compared to 3,048 for Democratic challenger Chris Garcia and 2,401 votes for independent challenger and Acting Mayor Tim Wagner.

Lichtenberg was the top vote getter in the council race with 5,901 votes, followed by Erik with 5,326 votes and Democratic challenger Kristin Reeves coming in third with 3,450 votes.

Michael Chazukow, a write-in candidate received 577 votes in the polling.

In the Board of Education race for three open seats, Kate Romeo took the first seat with 3,140 votes, followed by Teresa Dwyer with 2,865 and David Ofshinsky with 2,391 votes.
