WEST MILFORD - A group of veterans was treated to a free lunch at Camp Hope on Nov. 9.

The Passaic County Board of Chosen Freeholders and the Camp Hope Commission invited approximately 30 veterans and their spouses to the camp on Union Valley road at 11 a.m. for the second annual Veterans Appreciation Day lunch.

Attending veterans enjoyed a holiday lunch consisting of turkey, stuffing, ham, sweet potatoes, and pumpkin pie.

They also enjoyed each other’s company and the guitar playing of Scott Giaquinto.

Just before lunch was served, West Milford’s VFW Chaplin Sharon Einbinder led the veterans in prayer of thanks.

“Wow, what a great lunch, the Camp Hope staff really worked hard to make this a huge success,” she said later.

Camp Hope officials said it is planning to have the 3rd annual free lunch for veterans next November.

"The entire staff was very pleased with the turn out and it was a honor to serve those that have served," Karen Cisco Executive Director of Camp Hope said.
