Resident thankful for community, gathering place

To the Editor:

This letter is my personal opinion as a resident of West Milford, it does reflect the opinions or values of the West Milford Board of Education.

During this season of giving and thankfulness, I wish to thank the voters who believe in and me and my love for this township.

Together we will move ahead and continue to push excellence in education and safety, as well as continue to recognize the goodness that already exists.

There is so much to enjoy and give thanks for in our beautiful community.

For a few years, some neighbors and I would listen as music drifted up to our decks and patios on summer weekends.

Three weeks ago, a group of us found the origin.

J&S Road House on Wooley Road is a place we should all be thankful for. It is a true road house with the best bands and acoustic performances.

There are no politics there.

There is great food, great music and great conversation. Everyone is kind and everyone is there to enjoy each other.

Jamie and Steve, the owners, have made my neighbors and me feel like family and I am so grateful to them for that.

Every person who walks through that door will tell you the same thing. It’s a place to meet, greet, and just to be yourself.

There are bikers, teachers, doctors, professors, blue collar people and they are all wonderful.

Diane, one of the bartenders, cooks frequently, and her beef stew is the best.

So, I am grateful to have J&S Road House as a new part of my life, and I urge anyone who needs a hug or a place where people sincerely care for the welfare of others to visit it.

By the way, you have to order the wings and nachos supreme.

Hope to see everyone there.

Teresa Dwyer,

West Milford
