Charles J. Richnavsky, 87, of West Milford, passed away on Saturday, Nov. 24.

He was born on Sept. 9, 1931 in Dunlo, Pennsylvania to the late Anna (nee Ulichey) and the late Joseph Richnavsky.

Charles married Barbara (nee Leba) in 1951 and resided in Passaic where they started their family, later moving to Wayne, then Totowa, and for the last 48 years have resided in West Milford.

Charles worked transporting heavy hauling cross country for the Dan Barclay Trucking Company in Lincoln Park, and most recently until his retirement in 1996, he was employed with C.B. Finkle in Clifton, transporting mail to Canada.

He will best be remembered for being a caring and loving family man, and always welcoming people into his home.

He was an avid NY Giants and NY Yankees fan and at one time coached for West Milford Little League.

He had a love for vintage cars of which he had many in his earlier years, and enjoyed working on cars which he passed down onto his sons.

He had a great fondness for his very many pets over the years and took in many homeless and unfortunate animals.

Lastly, his family shares in all of the fond memories of their many family vacations and road trips, and endless family gatherings full of laughter.

He was predeceased by his sister Anne Kellman in 2006 and her husband Peter Kellman in 2017; his brother-in-law Paul Colombo in 2006; and his daughter-in-law Michele Richnavsky in 2018.

Charles is survived by his beloved wife Barbara, his loving children Charles J. Richnavsky, Jr. of West Milford, George A. Richnavsky of Newfoundland, and Julieann Van Orden and her husband Rod of West Milford; his cherished grandchildren Alex Richnavsky of Texas, Kirsten Richnavsky of New York, and Michael Van Orden of West Milford; his dear sister Martha Colombo, as well as many nieces and nephews.

The family will receive visitors on Friday, Nov. 30, from 2-6 p.m. at the Stickle-Soltesz Funeral Home, 187 La Rue Road, Newfoundland, NJ 07435 (For GPS use 1 Post Place).
