Barbara A. Ferrante (nee Schmidt),76, of West Milford passed away on Sunday, Dec. 2.

Born in Brooklyn, New York, she was the beloved wife of the late Joseph A. Ferrante and devoted daughter of the late Robert and Henrietta (nee Steward) Schmidt.

She was the cherished sister of the late Frederick Schmidt.

She is survived by her loving children, sons James and Ronald and wife Theodora Ferrante and a daughter Stefanie Valenzano, four grandchildren Alexis and Christian Valenzano and Joseph and Eleni Ferrante, a sister-in-law Catherine and husband John Buonocore, a sister-in-law Ann Schmidt and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

She enjoyed spending time with family, especially around the holidays, and will be terribly missed.

A funeral liturgy is scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Our Lady Queen of Peace Church in Hewitt.

Interment will take place at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Saddle Brook.

Visiting at Richards Funeral Home, 1440 Union Valley Road in West Milford is scheduled for Wednesday 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m.
