Jennie M. Ordway, 92, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, Dec. 19, 2018, at the Elderwood Nursing Home in Hornell, New York.
She is predeceased by her parents Joseph Sr. and Mary (Monte) DeBoise, her brothers Ray and Joseph Jr., and her loving husband of 75 years, Richard C. Ordway.
Jennie grew up in Lodi, where she met her husband and then moved to Hornell after WWII ended.
A loving mother and homemaker, Jennie enjoyed cooking and preparing meals for her family. She loved music and also was an avid ice skating fan. But most of all, she was devoted to taking care of her family and friends.
Jennie is survived by her daughter Cynthia Ordway, son Kenneth Ordway and his wife Bonnie, and son Mark Ordway and his wife Terri. She is also survived by six grandchildren, Colleen, James, Jason, Kelly, Tony and Joshua. She had eight great-grandchildren, Tanyon, Porter, Matthew, Kenneth, Emma, Olivia, Anna and Andrew, and several nieces and nephews who were very close to her.

Family and friends will be received at the Bender-Brown and Powers Funeral Home, 354 Canisteo St., Hornell on Saturday, Jan. 19 from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. A memorial service will follow at 11 a.m. with Pastor Charlie Emerson officiating. Burial will be at the Bath National Cemetery with her husband Richard.
