WEST MILFORD — There are currently many dogs, cats and some kittens waiting for new homes and families at the West Milford Animal Shelter.
When these homeless animals first arrive at the shelter, they usually require time to adjust to their new surroundings. They take time to become accustomed to all the other animals, the volunteers and the routine of the shelter. Some take a long time to adjust and some adjust quickly.
One of the newer cats at the shelter, Big Tig, seems to have adjusted in a very short period of time.
One of the volunteers saw him stretched out and sound asleep on the shelf in his cage and took his picture. He did not wake-up and continued to have a nice long nap sprawled out on his back with his tail curled onto his stomach and his four paws in the air.
This big mush is a five-year-old, beautifully marked tiger cat. He is neutered, up-to-date with all inoculations and has been tested for FIV/Feline Leukemia.
While he seems very comfortable at the shelter, a soft, cushy chair in a home of his own would be much more comfortable than a shelf..
