WEST MILFORD - The West Milford Township Library is pleased to host the free training workshop FEMA Until Help Arrives on Thursday, March 7 from 7-10 p.m.

Presented by University Hospitals Center for Emergency Preparedness and Response, attendees will learn simple and effective skills to use during the first critical minutes when someone is injured.

Training will cover simple and effective lifesaving skills such as effective communication with 9-1-1 operators; how to position the injured, how to stop life-threatening bleeding, how to manage your body under stress, and how to stay safe.

The FEMA Until Help Arrives program contains lecture, video, and hands-on elements. Attendees will have the opportunity to learn from some of New Jersey's most respected prehospital providers.

Registration is required and is limited.

To register, please visit the University Hospital New Jersey website https://uhnj.enrollware.com/enroll?id=2756556.

There is no charge for this program thanks to a grant from the NJ Department of Health.
