Girls Softball Association holds annual picnic and playoffs

West Milford. The West Milford Girls Softball Association held its annual picnic and playoff games on June 1.

Girls in all age divisions from T-Ball through Majors played softball games while families enjoyed food provided by DeMarco's Pizza.

They also danced and requested their favorite songs from DJ Steve Keller, jumped through the obstacle course bounce house, played carnival games and outdoor activities such as jump rope, hula hoops, giant soccer, can jam, had their faces painted, and spent the day having fun with their friends, teammates and families.

Coaches and Players from each team were introduced and presented with participation medals for the 2019 season.

Players were selected by their coaches to represent their team in the "Longest Hit Contest."

The top two longest hitters in each age division received a trophy.

The winners for each division were:

T-Ball: 1st Place-Samantha DeWilde, 2nd Place- Emily Bell

Instructional: 1st Place-Caitlin McKay, 2nd Place- Alyssa Thomas

Minors: 1st Place-Victoria VanTassel, 2nd Place- Caroline Bruce

Majors: 1st Place-Hayley Allwood, 2nd Place- Maddie Trout

Following the weekend's playoff games for Minors and Majors divisions, the top two winning teams in each division were scheduled to face off on Monday, June 10 in the Championship Games and get the first and second place trophies for their respective divisions.
