Dancing for 20 years

Precision Dance Academy is celebrating it's 20th year later in 2014. The longest running dance studio in West Milford loves to encourage and inspire its students through the performing arts. In doing so, PDA is putting a spotlight on two of its company members who have been dedicated dancers since the studio's very first years, Melissa Martinique and Shayla Doherty.

Melissa has been dancing at Precision Dance Academy since she was a preschool "pretty princess." She is currently in her junior year at West Milford High School where she is also a member of the band. Melissa generously volunteers her time to the PDA preschoolers by assisting the teachers. "We know that Melissa will be the perfect senior dancer to lead PDA into it's 20th year," said the owners.

Shayla is a senior at West Milford. She has been a part of the West Milford High School dance team and is now a coach of the town's junior varsity team. Shayla has been an amazing leader in her studio's company and continues to bring a positive attitude and a beautiful spirit to her dancing, PDA owners said. She plans to continue her dance education in college and will also be joining the PDA staff to help instruct classes in the fall.

"We want to congratulate both students on their admirable achievements and we wish them luck on their future endeavors," said owner Michelle Toale.

Toale, Jessica Grimes and Sandra Lee Schaublin are the owners of Precision Dance Academy for the past 15 years. Classes are offered at the studio for kids ages 2 1/2 through high school in all genres of dance.
