The Village of Greenwood Lake is planning an extraordinary weekend during Oct. 15-17, featuring two family-friendly events: the Lakeside Farmers Market, located at Greenwood Lake’s Thomas P. Morahan Waterfront Park (from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.) and the Oktoberfest Celebration located on Elks Drive (Chestnut Street) in Greenwood Lake.

Lakeside Farmers Market

The Lakeside Farmers Market has quickly established a reputation for unique, freshly-prepared baked goods, Certified Naturally Grown produce from the Black Dirt region, grass-fed beef and pastured pork, fresh locally roasted coffees, naturally-made soaps and other crafts, while featuring a different mixture of not-for-profit organizations each week that offer effective programs for many underserved segments of the population, including Project Hope, Rumshock Veterans Foundation, NASA Educational Programs and talented musicians.

“We are providing a great market for our customers which will in turn make it successful for our vendors. The response by our guests to the menu of vendors has been wonderful,” Market Manager Karen Wintrow said. “They like the quality of the food and other products presented by our exhibitors.”

Oktoberfest

The weekend events actually kick off with Greenwood Lake Family Night on Friday, Oct. 15, where Warwick residents can enter festival grounds for free. Oktoberfest continues Saturday, Oct. 16, from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. and Sunday, Oct. 17, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

The Oktoberfest celebration marks its third year and will offer more entertainment, vendors and events for family entertainment than ever before, while featuring German-style craft pieces and European foods and snacks, under the direction of the Village of Greenwood Lake New York and Festival Works, LLC.

Greenwood Lake’s Oktoberfest will have a full Biergarten serving up plenty of German and craft beer favorites along with authentic German foods next to a full stage lineup of live musical performances including 18-time Grammy-Award-Winner Jimmy Sturr & His Orchestra on Saturday, Oct. 16, beginning at 5 p.m.

There will even be a food and craft “Vendor Village,” offering up some of Hudson Valley’s unique artists and businesses while enjoying the sounds of festive music throughout the day and night.
