Mark B. Richards, 65, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, Nov. 14.
He was born on Jan. 1, 1954 in Franklin, New Jersey, to the late Gene and Phyllis (Bunting) Richards and lived his entire life in West Milford.
Mark was a graduate of West Milford High School and took a BS degree in History from William Paterson University.
He was employed in a number of home improvement companies over the years as well as various railroads, and was most recently employed by New Jersey Transit.
Mark enjoyed reading and hunting and was a very avid model railroad enthusiast.
He was a frequent contributor to the local newspapers espousing a Libertarian philosophy.
In his spare time, he volunteered at the West Milford Museum and a Friend of the Long Pond Ironworks.
A memorial visitation will take place on Saturday, Dec. 7 from 1:30-2 p.m. with a memorial service starting following at the Stickle-Soltesz Funeral Home, 187 La Rue Road in Newfoundland.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Mark’s memory to the West Milford Museum, 1470 Union Valley Road, West Milford, NJ, 07480.
