West Milford. Girl Scout Cadettes Lindsey and Samantha from Troop 94899, planned and led a group of Junior Girl Scouts from Troop 96519 on a hike in Wawayanda State Park.

The Cadettes read the map and planned the route, created a list of supplies that the younger girls needed to bring, and designed a nature scavenger hunt for the younger girls to do while hiking.

The Juniors learned how to read trail signs, the seven basic principles of Leave No Trace, what to do if they spot a bear, and how to dress appropriately for a hike.

The Cadettes were helping the Juniors with the Animal Habitat badge.
