Two Democrats will challenge the incumbent Republicans for two seats on the Township Council in the Nov. 5 election.
Karen Phelan and Brian Zlotkin will run against Councilwomen Ada Erik and Marilyn Lichtenberg, who are seeking re-election.
Erik and Lichtenberg were elected to the council in 2018 and re-elected in 2021.
Phelan, a chairwoman of the West Milford Municipal Democratic Committee along with Melissa Brown Blaeuer, also ran for a council seat in 2022 and 2023.
She has been a management consultant for Deloitte & Cap Gemini and held several management positions at Pfizer and Johnson & Johnson.
