Female flown to hospital from Paradise Knolls Elementary

An as yet unidentified 70-year-old female was flown by helicopter to Overlook Hospital, in Summit, from Paradise Knolls Elementary School on Tuesday after suffering a medical emergency.

The medical incident occurred at the Lakeland Bank on Oak Ridge Road, police said.

According to West Milford Police Department Detective Sgt. Eric Darnsteadt, officers responded to the Lakeland Bank on Oak Ridge Road at about 3 p.m. for a female suffering an unknown medical emergency.

The West Milford First Aid Squad and Paramedics were dispatched and, upon arrival, deemed it medically necessary to fly the female to the hospital.

According to police, the medical crews believed the woman may have been suffering a stroke at the time.

Medivac air transport uses the Paradise Knolls Elementary School grounds as a landing zone.
