Civil War reenactors from the 6th New Hampshire Regiment brought history to life at the Long Pond Ironworks State Park in Hewitt on Saturday and Sunday.

The group was part of the park's Civil War Weekend, featuring demonstrations of battlefield techniques, as well as metal work by Wyckoff Blacksmith Gaspar Lesznik.

The weekend of events was sponsored by the Friends of the Long Pond Ironworks.

The 6th New Hampshire Volunteers was one of the only regiments to fight in all theaters of the Civil War and return with their original regimental colors.
