'Mr. D' is looking for a loving home

Valentine's Day has come and gone but a loving companion and friend could be waiting for you at the West Milford Animal Shelter. During the month of February, the shelter is hosting its annual Love-a-Pawlooza adoption event. Every adopted pet goes home with a special Valentine gift bag filled with toys, treats and food.
Last week, The Messenger featured Millie, the cat who had been at the shelter for a little over a year and was still waiting for a new home and family. Well, Millie's special day finally came! She was adopted very shortly after the article appeared.
This week the featured pet is the largest one at the shelter, a very large black Labrador mix named Dezel.
Dezel is a big hunk of love who is described by Dolly, a volunteer at the shelter for more than 20 years, as "just fantastic." Dolly is not the only volunteer who adores him. He is a favorite of many of the other volunteers as well.
Mr. D is a friendly guy who gets along well with all the other dogs at the shelter. He is housebroken and is up-to-date with all inoculations. Dezel loves to go on walks and walks very well on a leash and, given his size, he walks at a nice comfortable pace. And he loves to roll in the snow!
Dezel is a big happy fella who could bring a lot of love and joy to a family. He has lost some weight with the added walks and activity time the volunteers have been giving him. For information about Dezel or any of the other animals at the shelter, call 973-728-2859, go to facebook/The West Milford Animal Shelter or visit the shelter on Lycosky Drive (behind recycling).
