About two dozen people joined first responders and local government officials to mark the 18th anniversary of the Sept. 11, 2001 terrorist attacks in New York and Washington that killed almost 3,000 people and changed the course of the nation.

Mayor Michele Dale read the names of the five local residents lost on that day; Fr. Mychal Judge, Jean Caviasco DePalma, Michael J. Zinzi, Jeremy Glick, and T.J. Hargrave.

She also read the names of three township military members killed in the ensuing military actions caused by the attacks.
