Sounds of the Season

West Milford. WMHS students to perform seasonal music at local storefronts in West Milford this Saturday.

| 02 Dec 2021 | 10:55

West Milford High School Band Students will be providing seasonal entertainment and spreading joy and cheer instead of giving tags for donations at their annual “Tag Day” fund-raising event this Saturday, Dec. 4.

The Highlander musicians will kick off this beloved community event at 10 a.m., by playing holiday tunes in small groups at local business establishments until 2 p.m.

Donations for the band students from customers, patrons, and even passers-by are welcome, encouraged, appreciated and accepted at all participating locations.

At the end of the event, all donations collected by the students throughout the day are tallied, combined, and then divided up evenly and fairly (by number of hours played) amongst all of the participating student musicians and deposited directly into their individual Student Band Accounts.

The donations raised help the students and their families offset individual costs for special trips and other such band-related expenses and can be used toward such expenses at any time while the student is a current member of the WMHS Highlander Band.

Most of the band students are currently fund raising for their Spring 2022 Performance Tour at Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida.
