An ordinance amending existing Township of West Milford noise control laws was introduced by the township council on Wednesday night.

It is designed to correct omissions from the state of New Jersey Model Noise Ordinance.

A second reading and public hearing of the ordinance is scheduled for the regular meeting of the council scheduled for Wednesday, Oct. 21.

There are numerous Airbnb rentals existing at Pinecliff Lake, Upper Greenwood Lake and Greenwood Lake, along with other township locations. Some neighbors of these homes have found behavior of the visitors troubling when the peace and quiet they enjoyed was disturbed by partying vacationers.

Some of these people registered complaints at earlier municipal board meetings.

To read see the ordinance in full go to the West Milford Township website and see the section Meetings and Minutes. Go to the Oct. 7, 2020 meeting and scroll down the documents for that meeting to find it.
